This remarkable house is just a block from my studio building in an otherwise commercial/industrial neighborhood. Interestingly, the front door faces the driveway on the side of the house, not the street. I imagine that it is a tiny remnant of history, that possibly many more charming clapboard houses like this one may have filled what is now a quasi-industrial neighborhood. I painted this on-site, plein air in 2016.
