Atlantic Avenue Artwalk Group Exhibit

Opening weekend: October 17 & 18
In the windows of 472 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn

This group exhibit, curated by curated by Arts Gowanus Executive Director Johnny Thornton, guest curators Clémence Mailly and Yvena Despagne, will be presented in the windows of 472 Atlantic Avenue and totally visible from the street/sidewalk. I plan to be there to meet and greet (aka loiter on the sidewalk!) opening weekend from around 2-5 pm each day. Artwork will be in the windows, not indoors.

The three paintings below, representing distinct bodies of work, have been selected to be included in this exhibit.

This exhibit is a small part of a large-scale, self-guided art walk that will include photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture, and installations, at more than 65 storefronts, outdoor dining areas, medical offices, and public spaces along Atlantic Avenue, between Fourth Avenue and the waterfront.

The majority of art will be exhibited outside and in windows, easily viewed from the street for COVID safety sake.

Arts Gowanus teamed up with Atlantic Avenue LDC and Atlantic Avenue BID to present this socially distanced ArtWalk for you to see art, rediscover the merchants on the avenue, and celebrate the community. More details, including list of artists and locations are HERE at ArtsGowanus.org. Wear your most creative mask and enjoy!
