A couple of NYC-based painter friends and I participated in a plein air painting event one Mother’s Day weekend at Sunnyside, the historic estate of writer Washington Irving. The spring day was warm and bright, with trees blooming to add spots of color. My friend set up in front of me and became the point of interest in this bucolic view with the Hudson River in the distance.
