Montepulciano, built on a steep hill, has many steep streets and a few flat-ish places. Early on I found this tiny piazza (really should be called a “piazzetta” - a mini-piazza) named after the small church whose shadow gave me a great place to paint this charming doorway and former stable. The harsh medieval walls are softened by the planters full of greenery and flowering geraniums.
