This small painting captures the brilliant sunlight reflecting off the yellow ocher medieval villages of Montepulciano, and the red-tiled roofs in view subtly indicate that its buildings are a bit downhill. The pot of profusely blooming red geraniums adds to the charm. While a somewhat simple composition, it captures the feeling of a small Tuscan town in the heat of summer.
