Original oil painting of a purple waterlily surrounded by lily pads and reflections of the plants and trees growing next to the water lily pond. A peaceful moment inspired by the Lily Terrace Pond at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Painted 2013-2020.

Very late in the season, these waterlily pads had turned quite red. More dramatic and beautiful than I had expected! Yet, there were still a couple of blooms enjoying the late afternoon’s sunshine.
