Union Street Construction Site

One of four in a mini-series, “Disappearing Gowanus,” this captures a relatively non-descript couple of buildings on Union Street, just a block from my studio, one of which is a construction site. Since the re-zoning of Gowanus passed early in 2022, this is becoming a common sight in my neighborhood. I was attracted to the back-lit old buildings “decorated” by the colorful street barriers and safety cones. The scene is from fall of 2021, and as of March 2022, the building on the left has been demolished.
