Sunrise on Last Foliage, First Snow
Oil on canvas on archival panel
20” x 16”

This captures that fleeting moment when the sun starts to rise and its rays narrowly hit certain elements of the cityscape, and this solar path is specific to the late fall/early winter. Somehow the tops of the trees were all lit up, but not much else other than the high-rises in the distance. The sky momentarily seemed incredibly pale and peachy toward the horizon. A most unusual, but lovely time of day!
