Paintings of Tuscany

  • Amaro Spirits & Wine 211 Seventh Avenue Brooklyn, NY USA (map)

An on-going display of small-scale, plein air paintings from my monthlong stay last summer in the charming hilltop village of Montepulciano in Tuscany, Italy. The many extremely steep side streets afforded a surprising variety of views and the opportunity to escape from wine-loving tourists.  I painted outside every weekday morning and almost every afternoon.  My legs were very tired by the time I got home!

This venue could not be any more perfect. It is filled with Italian (and other!) wines and especially bottles of amaro (herb-based spirits designed to stimulate and calm the digestive system) - it is just like a shop you might wander into while visiting a small Italian village! Visit their website to learn more: amarobrooklyn.com.

Store hours: Mon - Fri, 11 - 9; Sat 11- 10, Sun 1-7

I will be rotating the paintings on view, be sure to stop by periodically. We will be organizing a reception and wine tasting in the near future, so stay tuned. Join my email list to be sure you get the invitations: go to Contacts and sign up..
