SAVE THE DATES! I am excited to let you know that I have registered for the 27th Annual Gowanus Open Studios event. This will be my 20th GOS!
WHEN is it? Saturday and Sunday, Oct 21 & 22, noon to 6 pm
WHAT is GOS? Over 300 Brooklyn artists participate, with the vast majority of them opening their studios in the Gowanus neighborhood to the public, plus many others showing their artwork in alternative venues in the neighborhood.
WHERE is GOS? Centered in Gowanus, with some locations slightly beyond. Click on the map below for the artists directory and map:
My studio is at 543 Union Street, Ground Floor.
Enter through front door of building OR through alleyway on Nevins Street.
WHO should come? YOU and your art-loving and art-curious friends and acquaintances!
WHY attend? It is an incredible opportunity to see a wide diversity of artwork; to chat with artists about their inspirations and intentions; to see all kinds of studios hidden away in former factories and warehouses; and get a taste of Gowanus before it becomes more residential (you will see gazillions of construction sites in your travels around Gowanus). It is also a great way to find deals on artwork - very often, participating artists (like me!) will offer special discounts during the event.

To commemorate my 20th GOS, take 20% OFF these Landscape series (thru 10/22/23):

HOW to enjoy it? First of all, mark your calendar and invite your fellow art-lovers! Then make a plan, set a budget if you are thinking about buying art, and wear comfy shoes. Take breaks at the many wonderful coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, and bakeries in the ‘hood.

Be sure to get a printed map for GOS (I will have a big pile at my studio), which will also indicate our local business sponsors. I encourage you to support them, since they support the artist community.
