I was extremely fortunate to be accepted to a month-long artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center several years ago. Most of the time I roamed around with my plein air equipment, and I had a lovely studio which I used mostly to store my stuff. I had brought one large canvas with me, and eventually decided to use it for this interior view. I had a great time (aka “challenge”) working out how to depict the bright natural light and its effects outside and inside my studio. There’s the element of still life, also.
