Spring blooms in Brooklyn

It's been quite a long time since I last posted. A busy home-project filled winter distracted me from my studio and artwork. The burst of warm weather a few weeks ago drew me outdoors, first to Manhattan:

Then, I thought, why waste all that time and energy schlepping to Manhattan when I have Prospect Park blooming like crazy just a few blocks away?!

And, then I got more ambitious and got out my Julian easel when I drove by a beautiful enclosed garden at a church in Park Slope. The peaceful air, the blowsy flowers, and sense of being somewhere else was irresistible:
