Waterlilies with Forked Tree Branch Reflection, Spring

Oil on canvas
12" x 24"
$1520

This painting depicts a waterlily plant with a tree branch reflected in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Lily Pond. The tree branch has a v-shaped fork, and creates sort of a triangular background shape. This is a spring or early summer, mid-afternoon view when the leaves are bright green and the reflected tree is hardly leafy. Compare this to its sister painting showing how the same plant and tree looks in the autumn (albeit in another year) and later in the day. Painted in 2017.
